Side dish….hush your mouth! When you think of what pulls a dish together, you think of what can be added to enhance the entree itself. Though as carnivores some of us may love to have a plate full of meat, and the same could be said about vegetarians and all plant based entree. But a well balanced plate serves up side dishes that (1) blend well with each other, (2) provides nutrients a single item could not, and (3) enhances the protein portion of the palate presented before the diner.
